Everyday
Adventures
Becoming
an Explorer of Your World
|
Do
you aspire to live life to the fullest, embracing
adventure and curiosity along the way? Would you like
to invite more awareness, creativity, and fun into
your lifestyle? Then you need to learn to navigate
your everyday adventures like an explorer! Based on
the fabulously quirky and inspiring book How
to be an Explorer of the World by Keri Smith,
this four-week course will take you on a journey of
twenty different explorations that will hone your
powers of observation and s-t-r-e-t-c-h your creative
capacity.
Your
fearless expedition leader will be veteran BPS instructor
and Library of Memories trainer Tami Morrison;
she is known for her creative flair and sense of fun.
Tami will guide you along the trail of discovery with
wit, wisdom and a touch of wackiness. Her pages and
projects have appeared in numerous publications, and
most recently at Ella
Publishing, where she is a regular contributor.
With four offspring, ranging in age from five to twenty-four,
and a kid-at-heart husband, Tami knows all too well
that life is an escapade best savored with a wide-open
mind and a healthy sense of humor.

The
heightened perception you will cultivate as an explorer
of your world will carry over into your scrapbooking to
make you a better eyewitness and story collector. As you
fill your field journal and strive to be more engaged and
present, you may be surprised to find that you never look
at an ordinary junk drawer or grocery list in the same way
again.

Pre-work: |
You
will need to have your field journal ready when class
begins, so you can start recording your experiences
on day one. The field journal can be as simple as a
store-bought notebook, or as customized and embellished
as you would like to make it. You will also need a copy
of How
to be an Explorer of the World by Keri
Smith in hand by the first day of class. It will serve
as your textbook, and each exploration will have a corresponding
page assignment. |
| Additional
Items: |
If
you want the instant gratification of putting daily
photos in your field journal, you will need access to
a digital camera and home photo printer, a local quick
photo processing source such as a Kodak kiosk or one
hour photo, or an instamatic camera (I will be using
the Fuji
Instax). If you are unable to print your
photos daily, you can leave space to add them later. |
